Croppin’ Tops

Another day, another project! I was still frustrated from the monstrosity of a sewing project I attempted yesterday and wanted to do something a lil’ more chill. SO, I decided to crop a shirt I got from a dear friend/tattoo artist 👩‍🎨 (@theskincanvas_)

— before —

— before —

¡after!

¡after!

New things I intentionally did with this shirt that I haven’t done before were:

  • I used the double fold hem for the bottom of the shirt

  • I tried to pseudo-serge the raw edges of the darts on the sides

  • Pressed the hem prior to sewing

I also sewed this shirt without using so many pins (the ironing definitely helped with that) and compared to the two previous projects, I’m a lot more comfortable actually using the sewing machine!

And a made a little time lapse of the process:

It took me approx. 1.5 hours to complete, which is a new record I’d say. Can’t wait for the next project!
