First Outing with my Fuji XF10
cue the oooooohs & aaaaahs
It’s been a while since I’ve bought a new digital camera, so this year I bought TWO! I’ve been meaning to find a replacement for my Fujifilm X100F for a long time because I always found the fixed lens a bit limiting, though I definitely thought it was enchanting in its own ways.
My baby for a long, long time 🥺
While I was quarantined for two weeks, I researched day and night (quite literally; I was an anxious wreck and couldn’t sleep the entire time) about different cameras I could possible upgrade to. I ultimately chose the Fujifilm X-T4 as my main body, accompanied by the 23mm F1.4, 35mm F1.4, and 18mm F2 lenses. I did mull over one thing — the fact that the X-T4 is humongous compared to the X100F, especially with the added weight of the lenses, and definitely not something I can tote around on a night out or casual trip downtown.
And this is where the Fujifilm XF10 comes in… For approx. $400 I received this bad boy from an eBay vendor from Japan about two weeks ago, but haven’t been able to try it out until yesterday.
When I tell you I was pleasantly surprised…. BEETCH. I’d taken some photos inside my apartment and they looked like any ol’ point and shoot photos, so I clearly was not giving it the environment it needed to shine ✨ For such a small camera, it’s super sharp, captures colors beautifully, and even has a lil’ depth of field! I’ve always preferred a wider angle so it’s nice to have a 28mm focal length without fiddling with the wide lens converter I usually used with my X100F.
I’m super excited to bring this out on more adventures especially as the weather gets warmer and vaccine distribution becomes more rampant.
